For many women, staying home with the kids just isn't an option since they need that extra income to make things work . . . or do they? More and more women are discovering work for mom at home. Jobs abound online that women can do from home, while watching their kids. The trick is picking one that isn't a scam.

If you're a mother who needs to bring in a little extra cash, then you might want to think about working online. There are a lot of great jobs that can be done remotely, through telecommuting which allows you to set your own hours and work when you are able. What kind of jobs are available? Well, quite a few!

Data entry. Yes, this is a real job, though there are a lot of scams out there, so be careful. These often require you to fill out forms or to create spreadsheets full of information you glean from documents and websites. It's not glamorous work, but it is work and can be done in your spare time.

Writing. If you can write, you might want to consider getting into the world of online writing. You can actually earn a living at writing if you know how to get the right jobs. The trick is to know where to look. You might want to take a writing course to learn.

Transcription: This is a pretty dull job, but it can pay very well if you're good at it. You'll need to listen to audio recordings and then type them into documents. There are several different types of transcription, so if you have experience in certain areas, such as medicine, you can specialize, if you like.

Graphic art. There are plenty of websites that are on the lookout for great graphics, so if you know your way around Photoshop, you can probably find jobs that let you put those creative talents to work.

Programming. Many companies are looking for programmers, so if you're able to write software, you could be in high demand. This can be a high pressure job though, so make sure you only take jobs with reasonable deadlines.

Blogging. Technically, this is the same as writing, but there are video blogs and you can also start your own blog and sell advertising. It's not necessarily a job, but more of a business and some bloggers earn a lot of money.
